IS TENSION AND STRESS GETTING TO YOU?
Tension is the feeling that is produced when we are worried or anxious that causes it difficult for us to relax. It can be classified into psychological, physical and hormonal.
TYPE OF TENSIONS
Psychological tension is usually associated with stress. It is a feeling of emotional strain and pressure which is usually prolonged. Small amount of stress may be desirable, beneficial, and even healthy to push us to excel. However, long term exposure can eventually affect our thoughts and feelings, creating emotional tensions that compromise our work quality and family life.
Physical tension. At one point or another, we would have felt our body has physically restricted our ability to perform. Incorrect sitting posture, excessive physical exercise, low level of certain nutrients such as magnesium or even psychological tension, which can affect various muscles in the body causing aches and cramps such as muscle stiffness, headache or leg cramp.
The final type of tension which is relevant to most ladies is hormone-related tension. The drop in hormone levels may precipitate not just period pain but also headaches in women just before or during menstruation.
MAGNESIUM – NATURE’S CHILL PILL
Magnesium, a natural ‘chill-pill’ is the natural solution to resolve tension problems because it helps the muscles to relax and calms the nerves. The human body is not able to produce magnesium. The magnesium requirement can be met through food sources and dietary supplement. Tension and magnesium are closely related because when the body is tensed, it leads to depletion of magnesium and when the body is low in magnesium, it is more prone to tension and stress.
